# About EV Fix Guide

EV Fix Guide is an independent, owner-focused repair knowledge base for electric vehicles. We start with Tesla — the EV most owners are driving out of warranty today — and are expanding to other EVs such as Rivian, Ford, Hyundai and Kia. Our goal is simple: help owners understand what is wrong with their car, what a fair repair price looks like, and when an independent shop or a weekend DIY is a safe alternative to the service center.

## What we cover

- Common faults for Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck
- Side-by-side cost ranges: Tesla Service Center vs independent shop vs DIY
- Step-by-step DIY instructions for low-voltage and mechanical repairs
- Clear warnings when a job involves high voltage and must be left to professionals

## How we estimate costs

Cost ranges are compiled from publicly shared owner invoices and quotes (forums such as Tesla Motors Club and Reddit), independent shop price lists, and parts retailer pricing. They are US-dollar estimates, not quotes. Prices vary by region, model year, labour rate and parts availability. Every guide shows the date it was last reviewed. If you have a recent invoice that differs, email [contact@evfixguide.com](mailto:contact@evfixguide.com) and we will review it.

## Editorial independence & advertising

Independent shops can advertise with us. Sponsored placements are always labelled as sponsored and never change the cost data, the DIY instructions or which repairs we recommend. We do not accept payment to remove or soften information about a repair or a shop.

## Safety

Tesla vehicles contain high-voltage systems (400V–800V) that can kill. Our DIY instructions cover only low-voltage and mechanical work. Anything involving orange high-voltage cables, the battery pack or refrigerant must be done by trained technicians with the right equipment.

## Not affiliated with Tesla

EV Fix Guide is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. Tesla and its model names are trademarks of Tesla, Inc., used here only to identify the vehicles we write about.
