## How to fix it yourself (easy, 45 Minutes)

With a Torx T20 screwdriver and a can of AC evaporator cleaner foam, you can fix this in your driveway easily.

### Tools you need

- Torx T20 Screwdriver
- Plastic Trim Pry Tool
- AC Evaporator Cleaner Foam (Kool-It / Liqui Moly Klima Fresh)
- Set of 2 New Activated Carbon/HEPA Cabin Air Filters

### Steps

1. Pry off the passenger side footwell under-dash cover using the trim tool and disconnect the footwell light.
2. Pull away the right-side center console trim panel.
3. Remove the single T20 screw holding the cabin filter cover and remove the cover.
4. Pull out both old cabin filters using their pull tabs.
5. Insert the evaporator foam spray tube into the evaporator core housing and discharge half the can into the top and half into the bottom cavity.
6. Wait 15-20 minutes for the foam to liquefy and drain through the condensation drain port under the vehicle.
7. Insert the new filters ensuring proper airflow directional arrows, then reinstall covers.
8. Run the climate control on outside air mode with maximum fan speed for 10 minutes to dry the core.

**Pro tip:** Replacing cabin filters annually in spring and cleaning the evaporator prevents moisture condensation odors from returning.
